Mahalia and Me

Mahalia and Me follows a family in Milwaukee by way of Mississippi in 1942. In a home forbidden to worship, praise, or sing to the Lord by their father, the young daughter is torn by the love of her father and the love of her mother’s gospel music. As an adult – her life set to repeat by marrying a man who is just like her repressive father – she is faced with one final decision – to sing or to stay quiet.
