Tad Brown at the Door of Lunacy

Orron Kenyetta walked into a sound studio the day after the opening night of the revival of Tad in 5th City. The two days that he spent reliving the tumult of his childhood were evident on his face.

He took his seat before the mic and readied himself to perform 5th City Iron Man… But Tad Brown, the central character in Tad in 5th City, had a firm grip on Orron’s heart – and he wasn’t ready to let go.

In an outpouring of emotion Orron offered up the epic poem that began the Tad saga. He needed to spend time in the company of his younger self for a bit longer… He was right of course – his heart knew what he needed. And as it turns out – we needed this visit as well. In a performance as raw and powerful as the work first witnessed on stage during the Underground Poetry Jam, Orron reminds us all of the depth of his seminal work and the brilliance of the spoken word.
