Black Gen Xers have borne witness to an all out assault on many of its heroes, rightly or wrongly. Media circuses around the misdeeds” of Mike Tyson, Michael Jackson, OJ Simpson. They were built up and torn down. These events were momentous and incredibly complicated. They spun around issues of self-worth, sexual proclivities, the so-called justice system, and what it means to be a free black person in this country. But when Dr. Healthcliff Huxtable was accused of drugging young women into unconsciousness and doing unspeakable things to them in his basement OB/GYN office just to keep him from buying NBC… for some, much like eating a porterhouse steak served on a garbage can lid, it was tough to swallow.
